With the harsher conditions of winter, including freezing temperatures, snow, ice, and de-icing agents, it is important to take care of your iGarden. Here are some tips to look after your iGarden surface finish of porcelain tiles or composite decking during winter:

Clean regularly:

• Sweep or use a leaf blower to remove debris, leaves, and snow regularly. 

Use Non-abrasive tools:

• When cleaning, use non-abrasive tools such as a soft bristle brush or a mop to avoid scratching the surfaces.

Mop:

• Use a squeegee mop to remove any build up of moisture to prevent it from freezing.

Avoid De-Icing Agents with Calcium Chloride:

• Some de-icing agents, especially those containing calcium chloride can damage porcelain tiles.  We recommend Ice Melt and here is why:

• It de-ices on contact. 
• Long lasting – it retains its ability to de-ice for up to 36 hours. 
• It is salt free – noncorrosive granules. 
• It is biodegradable.
• It is non-toxic – safe for children, animals, and plants.
